On&On is a series of movement sessions organized by On and led by artists in the MoMA PS1 community. Each session offers an opportunity to connect with our bodies, the city, and the many communituties of Queens. Sessions range from plant walks to neighborhood runs to mobility focused workouts, each led by a creator whose work engages movement, landscape, and embodiment as part of their practice.

Flux Essentials: Mobilized with Dion Olivier
September 10, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Join Dion Olivier of F L U X Vitality for a mobility-focused workout with an emphasis on personal physiological exploration. Informed by his ongoing physical therapy studies and his goal of relieving common aches through strengthening the body, Dion will begin the class by asking “What hurts today?” Modifications provided across a range of accessibility for all fitness levels.

Movement, Motion, & Meaning with Damani Pompey
September 24, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Join Damani Pompey, interdisciplinary artist and movement educator, to explore ideas of the self outside of ego. Pompey will utilize movement and organizational tools to examine how the moving body supports positive spaces for everyone. Damani will delve into the action of community, and look at how to transmute tasked-based living through presence and mindfulness. This movement experience requires the moving body and an open spirit.

Abolitionist’s Plant Walk with jackie sumell
October 15, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Join multidisciplinary artist and activist jackie sumell for a walk through Long Island City to explore the connection between nature and abolition. Learn how plants have been part of the resistance, communicating freedom and liberation, and explore the hierarchical linguistic threads between ecological biases and human biases. Through guidance during the session, attendees will learn how these plants can teach profound lessons in patience, interdependence, care and mutual aid.

Long Island City Run with Jaeki Cho
October 22, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Join a day of movement led by Queens Distance Runners with local run collectives–Run Hustle Run, WEPA, We Run Hollis, World’s Fair Run Crew, Goldfinger Track Club–hosted by Jaeki Cho, a Queens-native and content creator. After a stretch session and a 5K run, you’ll be treated to handmade Jamaican patties by Branch Patty and fresh juice from local favorite, Fresh Pick.
