During Your Visit
MoMA PS1 is located in what was once a 19th-century public school building. Occupying a historic building offers some challenges and idiosyncrasies; however, our team strives to create an accessible and welcoming space for everyone.
Arrival and Wayfinding
MoMA PS1’s main entrance is located at 22-25 Jackson Avenue in Long Island City, Queens. On arrival you will be greeted by a member of our Visitor Engagement Team. Once checked in, you will follow a concrete path into our courtyard before entering the main building. There is a ramp and power assist doors to enter the building. Wheelchair accessible self-service lockers are available to store your belongings.
Floors
MoMA PS1’s building was constructed in the 19th century, and retains its original architectural integrity. As a result, you will encounter varied flooring and tile throughout the space. Our Visitor Engagement team is available to assist with navigating differences in floor materials and grade.
Wheelchairs
Wheelchairs are available free of charge at our main entrance on a first-come, first-served basis.
Elevator
The building is equipped with one elevator that provides access to all public areas of the museum. The three main floors of the museum, including the bookstore, café, and basement level, are accessible by elevator. For elevator access to the basement, please ask for assistance at the greeter podium in the lobby of the main museum building.
Restrooms
There are wheelchair accessible restrooms on floor one. Additional wheelchair accessible restrooms are also available; find a full list of locations in our printed visitor guide. Our restrooms are all-gender.
Seating
Benches are available in the courtyard, terrace, lobby, and on all floors. Wheelchair accessible seating is available in outdoor areas.
Digital Guide
Free to download, our Digital Guide offers access to wall text, artwork images, audio guides, and transcriptions of video and audio content. The guide is available to download on the Bloomberg Connects app, and features a variety of built-in accessibility features including voice over, image zoom, and font size adjustment.
Service Animals
Service animals are welcome. They must be leashed for the duration of your visit.
Free Admission
MoMA PS1 is free for all New Yorkers. Admission for everyone else is suggested. See full suggested admission on the Visit page.
