Closing Celebration for Freedom to Grow

Mark the closing of Freedom to Grow: The Lower Eastside Girls Club & jackie sumell with a drop-in celebration featuring tea tastings and gallery talks. The exhibition is the culmination of over two years of collaboration between artist jackie sumell, the Lower Eastside Girls Club (LESGC), and MoMA PS1. To celebrate the occasion, the afternoon offers opportunities to hear more from sumell and LESGC youth about their exhibition and ongoing creative partnership.

Join LESGC youth for tea and conversations on the healing properties of plants grown in the PS1 Courtyard as part of their project Growing Abolition. LESGC youth will also be in Homeroom to discuss abolition, including ideas presented in their zine, Freedom to Grow, created for the exhibition.
