Open House

Join us for our March Open House to celebrate two new exhibitions with talks from artists, activists, and educators in both English and Spanish. The entire day is free and open to the public.

The event marks the opening weekend of Onyeka Igwe’s A Repertoire of Protest (No Dance, No Palaver), a cinematic installation exploring the legacy of dance as protest, along with a new commission by Chuquimamani-Condori and Joshua Chuquimia Crampton interlacing sound, music, collage, and family histories.

At 3:30 p.m. join us for a Symposium on Indigenous and Migrant Justice in conjunction with Chuquimamani-Condori and Joshua Chuquimia Crampton’s exhibition. The symposium gathers an intersectional group of thinkers and activists to discuss Andean perspectives on Indigenous self-determination, drawing out broader connections to the politics of migration and detention in the US.

To celebrate Onyeka Igwe, a special playlist created by mellowdramatics, fellow member of the London-based collective Black Obsidian Sound System (B.O.S.S.), can be heard at Mina’s and on the museum terrace. While you’re there, enjoy all-day happy hour with special cocktails and menu items.
