Join artist Yto Barrada and educator Isa Rodrigues for a family artmaking activity inspired by Le Grand Soir, Barrada’s monumental sculpture commissioned for the MoMA PS1 courtyard. Drawing on modular block games and botanical education models, this workshop invites emerging artists ages 5–13 to construct plants, flowers, and insects with wooden blocks. Using all-natural paints made of soy milk and earth pigments, young artists can take home creations that imagine the future of our natural world. Capacity is limited for this event, free with RSVP.

Yto Barrada (b. 1971, Paris) is an artist recognized for her multidisciplinary investigations of cultural phenomena and historical narratives. Her new commission Le Grand Soir is on view in the MoMA PS1 courtyard through 2026.

Isa Rodrigues is an textile artist and educator based in Brooklyn, New York. She is a founding team of the Textile Arts Center (TAC), where she has worked as Co-Executive Director, and founded the project Sewing Seeds, activating natural dye gardens in empty lots and community gardens in Brooklyn.
