Now in its 27th season, MoMA PS1’s signature summer music series Warm Up invites audiences to discover underground and emerging talent. Warm Up charts origin points for innovations in electronic music on Friday evenings at an hour that welcomes audiences of all ages. The series brings together art, music, and nightlife communities, with luminaries performing each week in PS1’s open-air courtyard on a set designed by New York City-based artist and musician Jeffrey Joyal. Dance on Yto Barrada’s monumental installation Le Grand Soir, enjoy food from Street Vendor Project, and experience PS1’s full slate of exhibitions, open late. Kick off your summer weekend with Warm Up.

This year’s lineup features artists such as Ballroom music icon MikeQ, who returns to PS1 following performances in 2017 and 2012; Hackney-born rapper, poet, and producer John Glacier; Nigerian Alté innovator Sarz; ‘90s Cologne luminary Eric D. Clark; Breakbeat stalwart Special Request; improvisational spoken word and bass collaborators Fred Moten & Brandon Lopez; rising London party-starter OK Williams; influential club duo Nguzunguzu; cyber-singeli prodigy DJ Travella, who makes his US premiere; New York’s own Drum & Bass queen DJ Empress; Godfather of Memphis Rap DJ Spanish Fly; dystopian Dark wave producer Marie Davidson on the decks; and Detroit techno legend and Drexciya affiliate DJ Stingray 313. The complete lineup follows below.

A season pass is now available through July 18, offering discounted admission to all performances.

About Warm Up 2025

Warm Up is organized by the MoMA PS1 curatorial team. Each year, a host committee of five artists, musicians, and writers active across New York City’s club and independent music ecosystems serve as seasonal ambassadors and provide program recommendations. The 2025 Warm Up host committee includes Enyonam Afi Amexo (Dweller), Kay Gabriel (The Poetry Project), Maggie Lee (artist), Ser Serpas (artist, The Gatherers), and Gage Spex (The Spectrum).

Since 1998, Warm Up has presented experimental and avant-garde music that forms an integral part of PS1’s multidisciplinary programming across under-known subcultures, scenes, and communities. An influential series that amplifies emerging and legendary performers alike, Warm Up has presented renowned DJs and producers such as Honey Dijon, SOPHIE, DJ Spooky, Yasunao Tone, Easyfun, Arca, and Crystallmess. Today, the program foregrounds international and diasporic perspectives within emergent generations of experimental and club music. Building on the growing resurgence of night-life genres, the series also contextualizes historic figures and regional sounds for new audiences. Warm Up offers an environment for unique encounters between local and international art and music audiences within the setting of a premiere cultural institution.
