Family Guide

Created by Artists from Teen Art Salon

Pick up a copy of our Family Activity Guide (with colored pencils!) on your next visit to MoMA PS1. Use the guide to explore PS1’s historic building and the many artworks embedded in its walls, ceiling, and floor. The guide traverses our beloved Artist Interventions, site-specific works located across the campus, many of which date back to the Museum’s inception. The Family Activity Guide—full of drawing exercises, coloring prompts, and secrets from PS1’s history—is available for free in our Lobby.

The Family Activity Guide was created by Kayloni Hall Cabrera, Skye Hall Cabrera, Adrita Rahman, and My Anh Phan, artists from Teen Art Salon. Located just down the street in Long Island City, Teen Art Salon is dedicated to providing resources and visibility to early-career artists ages 11 to 19. While you’re on site, explore their exhibition in Homeroom, Teen Art Salon: A Protospective.

The guide, the second originated by Teen Art Salon and MoMA PS1, is part of an ongoing collaboration between the two organizations. The young artists began their project with a tour of the building by Gallery Associate Tyson Meraki. From there, they selected artworks for the guide, creating interactive exercises to engage family audiences.
