Zoe Bellot (Main d'Oeuvre)
'Main d'oeuvre' is my pen-name. The expression is French for labor and consists of two words meaning 'hand' and 'work'.
My work focuses on games, language and travel. Travel games, travel guides, language games, foreign languages, and similar combinations are among possibilities I like to investigate.
Whatever form it takes, my work is always a statement about language and the product of a literary spirit. I approach every project as a fiction and use the game format and strategics as grammatical substitutes and narrative possibilities.

I was born in Paris in 1981. I studied American literature at the Sorbonne for a number of years, until book arts opened new ways to my literary goals.
I moved to New York City in 2008. Printmaking has since become my mother tongue.
