"Landscape fragments, drawn from the metropolitan area in which I live, inform my imagery.
My process starts with a line drawing, which evolves into a series of vibrantly colored geometric
planes. I am interested in how color, space, structure, and geometry interact on shaped canvases.
When polygonal planes meet they interact with each other creating unexpected effects.
The interplay of canvas shape, surface-angles, composition, and color all effect the viewers perception of the work.
I see this as a reflection of the “natural phenomenon of society and life”.
Within the complexity theory of life, every single element is related to every other element,
and they interact in ways that can create startling and synergistic effects.
I primarily use shaped wood canvases that I make myself; the creation of the canvas is an important part of the process for me.
