Artist's Statement

All relationships between nature -- animals and humans, and even humans with other humans are eroding. Every time I return from my travels, I see not a world of individuals, but merely persons who are becoming more and more superficial.People are influenced by media and wear only name-brand outfits as if the same person.Cell phones, Internet access and technological distractions help mold us into people who lack substance and make decisions for us without us realizing it.But we cannot survive without these communication tools because they are convenient and fun.On the other hand, it creates an ironic lack of true communication.I have met various people by taking trips.I have traveled to approximately 100 cities since I was a child. When I traveled abroad, I realized that there is also a real world outside of Japan.I was able to verify that distance doesn't matter. Here is here and there is there and both are REAL.
