Artist's Statement

I see myself as a loyal painter, who looks for various media and approaches to fulfill my intention. My current work mainly investigates the shape and the color of human desire by the approach of combining found images or objects with the playful mark-making. This body of work usually presents in the form of organic liquid, which I name “Flows.” “Flows” not only represent the invisible relationship between figures, but also projects my grotesque fantasies or cynical comments towards the use and iconography of images. Under this colorful sugar-coated appearance, I try to establish a regurgitated aesthetic, an ambiguous paradise—seductive, disturbing, sweet and humorous at the same time.
