William Walker

I make paintings that attempt to become paintings by dealing with the interaction of paint and a support, usually stretched canvas, mediated by a variety of means, typically brushes. I am interested in the idea that a painting could be something that interacts with the viewer through the process of the viewer’s gaze and the painting just sort of hanging there. I tread the delicate balance of starting a painting and working on it for awhile, with an emphasis on finishing it.
