Artist's Statement

My drawings and paintings explore themes of alienation and hidden identity. There is a sense of concealment and entrapment within the private spaces the figures in these works inhabit. Solitary or coupled female figures appear in sparsely furnished rooms. These atmospheric rooms become stages for unusual social interactions and solitary moments to occur.
