Steve Riley
Using a wide range of disciplines I transform recycled materials into art pieces. With a modern primitive style I balance the positive and negative space that gives a piece a sense of beauty.
Exploring the boundaries of deconstruction and reconstruction, I have taken techniques such as, hammering, cutting, drilling and applied them with painting to a diverse blend of materials, including, leather, wood, electrical cables and paper. Taking an unorthodox approach I embellish the finished surface of my work with nails to juxtapose nature with the synthetic.
