Stanley Casselman
I orchestrate light. I manipulate the medium to create the perception of texture, form and dimension. Through this light and its corresponding transformation of the space in which it inhabits I hope to influence consciousness towards the ethereal. The medium for my work is acrylic on polyscreen. The fabric is mounted within a light box that contains an array of LED’s as well as the devices that run the video-based imagery. Each installation has its own unique programming and cycle time. I create the unique visual story told through the piece’s surface by stringing fluid scenes together. These scenes last from a few seconds up to several minutes, and are programmed to fade one into the next such that the image is seamlessly, subtly and constantly transforming.
