Artist's Statement

I approach my art like a child playing a game, this attitude allows me to add and subtract until I feel that I am expressing exactly what is happening to me in my life.
I like to use organic materials in my collages, and I like to show that we are not just surface, that there is much more going on underneath that is so much more interesting, we are so much more connected to our planet than we would like to admit.
I have lived in Brooklyn for many years now and the park, the trees here are my main inspiration for my work. I try to get at least one leaf in almost every collage I do. Are the trees holding us and the neighborhood together with their roots? I ponder this question a lot when I walk around in the Slope looking at our trees.
