In my work, I am creating an imaginary world where there is no sense of
belonging to any specific place or time. The characters that I have created have
various interactions in each scene, giving the individual pieces a subtle narrative
quality. The series as a whole is not based on any specific story, but it revolves
around the central theme of “Interaction”.
The focus is to observe relationships between the characters, or between the
characters and their surroundings. The moments captured are often silent and
suspended in time. They depict the subtle unspoken communications and
connections that can occur in a single instant.
Soo Kim's poetic drawings and paintings often convey a vague story line with a mystic hint, and evoke emotional responds from viewers.
