Artist's Statement

Born in Norway, Sol left her tiny mountain village at 16. She went on to live and study in Paris, Vienna, and Medellin. Virtually self-taught in artistic techniques, she came to NYC for an MFA at Parsons, and has since then worked in an artist collective in Brooklyn. An avid drawer all her life, Sol participated in her first exhibit as a teenager. To date, her work has been featured in 70+ exhibits worldwide. She has had 8 solo shows in many countries, most recently a 50+ works multimedia exhibit in Berlin. Her work is in museums and public collections, incl. the Cincinnati Art Museum and the Nordic Museum of Drawing, Sweden. Sol has attended international artist residencies and lectured widely. A recipient of 30+ awards and grants over the past two decades, Sol’s work has been reviewed in many publications internationally.
