Artist's Statement
My process driven studio practice is an investigation of public and private space, inscription and image construction.
I utilise a range of media and materials to craft objects and images that carefully consider notions of gesture, mark-making, pop culture and the minutia of everyday life.
In 2011 this output has seen the ongoing production of large scale sculptural pieces based on found inscriptions and symbols. These hand made objects painstakingly combine found gestures with commonplace materials whilst quietly contemplating the origin and poetic qualities of the mark itself. My work posits astute reflections on the mark making habits of people and the minor histories of the various city environs in which I have lived and worked in to date.
