Artist's Statement

I am motivated to investigate questions about representational painting . History of painting and subjects that appeal to me such as artificial light, phenomena and the relationship of painting to social change are subjects that concern me in my work
Because of my interest to reference media and phenomena, in the process of my work I approach the painting as if it was a stage set of a performance . Like in a production of a stage or a film I build up moments by choreographing values of light and dark, by creating tensions and generating new ideas by reconfiguring what looks familiar. I find that in the process of my painting I keep questioning many dual situations and how they interact with each other in space, form and time. Usually each painting leads to the next and build up a body of work that makes me question in the end of what is fake and what is real .
