Artist's Statement

Because culture can’t be an entity distinct from collective creative act, it is therefore tied to its violence. The earliest photographic impulses sought to capture moments from time to preserve fleeting memories on the verge of cyclical destruction. The image recording mediums and fragmentations of my montage works and interactive installations attempt to capture time, while also suggesting self-referring, artifactual significance. Circumstances of digital technocracy, economic over-extension, and underlying ubiquity of Creative Destruction lead to my destructive combination of images quests for something of and beyond image saturated urban experience. The work echoes the geology of New York life, capturing through the lens my daily traverse/navigation from home to studio in East Williamsburg Industrial Park to job/work sites, and to freelancing gigs.
