My most recent series of work centers on Rembrandt’s self-portraits. I have used many of his most intimate self-reflexive paintings to experiment and abstract away from the popularly known image to an imagined, re-invented story of the artist and my own self-portrait.
My previous series of paintings focused on a fictitious character named Eve named after the darkness of the backgrounds such as an “evening” and that of the biblical name. They were inspired by female fashion advertisements and the stories from Genesis.
