Bio/Resume
Satomi Shirai is a Japanese born, New York based Artist. She received her BA from Musashino Art University in Tokyo and MFA from CUNY Hunter College in 2010. She has exhibited internationally, including Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, Topaz Arts in NYC, and National Portrait Gallery in London. She is having a solo exhibition in Munich, and her work will be featured at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Portrait in Washington D.C. in 2011. Recent award include a fellowship from the Agency of Cultural Affairs, Government of Japan in and a scholarship award from International Center of Photography.
