Artist's Statement

Sarah E. Brook is a sculptor and installation artist exploring the relationship between identity and the physicality of place. Through her work she investigates the process by which expansive space can be physically and psychologically internalized, allowing for the restructuring of normative narratives that limit the self. Her work is contextualized by her formative experience of vastness in the high-desert where she was raised.
