Chance Being Born

Slim Ghost had a new sporting game. He was ready for his real success to shine and to win a matter of redemption. He ruled out favors.

Fat Ghost stood big at a unique high of a lifetime, still an improbable best. He never missed or passed up even the off meeting. Fat Ghost won his first, another, one more, but at his low, he jumped at a slight of rain.

“Here’s your rare offer,” Fat Ghost said to Slim Ghost, “I’m giving you a best three in five.”

“But what’s my better encounter?” said Slim Ghost.

“Now’s only my last.”

Slim Ghost deserved a blind peace but he let the good get away, took the final second, and lost at friendship.
