Artist's Statement

Rebecca Herman and Mark Shoffner work as collaborators on sculpture, video, installation, and conceptual art projects. The new series shown here is Album Covers for Records that Don’t Exist Yet. Each abstract work is the size of an album cover, 12 x 12 inches. The idea is based on the record album cover as an accessible art form--like a small painting--that once was prevalent in everyday life. We are inviting musicians to create a new song for each of the album covers. The album covers and the songs will be licensed under Creative Commons to allow free non-commercial distribution of the works.
