Rahul Alexander
I work by taking stock from a variety of sources and developing compositions using traditional mediums and processes. In the last year I’ve worked almost entirely in oils on canvas using a type of plate-based printmaking technique. The medium and process become essential components to the message as I try to convey narrative relationships between disparate cultural histories (American post-world war advertising, images of grandiose spaceships, varying histories of brushwork, etc.) all the while providing a dystopian critique on the nature of painting.
