Rachel Vine

My art creates an abstract vocabulary of personal icons, that evolve as I do. Abstraction and representation take me to the next level with photography, imagery, and sound. In these Visual-Sound works each image starts as a complete and independent work. An atmosphere of visual and sound mood, mystery, magic, and story happens as each image flows to the next as does the creation of sound responding to the visuals directly. The frozen images are  no longer frozen and yet there is stillness with movement simultaneously creating an unusual relationship to time and a timeless aspect filled with emotion that won't be moved for that image is frozen, unlike daily life. These works become one with the media like a union of separate forces-in essence, an energy of matter put together.
