I have been a painter for almost 30 years, on and off. When I'm not painting its because I'm in the darkroom printing photographs. I don't make pictures, I make paintings. I am not interested in narratives, storytelling or documenting events. I am only interested in the existential possibilities of moving paint over a flat surface. Fighting through the adversities to find meaning.
I consider myself an American painter. Though I was not born here, I am a product, or by-product, of America's Art History. I have a BA in Psychology from Queens College and an MFA degree from L.I.U.
