Parasympathetic is an ongoing investigation of color relationships. In each, an idealized teardrop shape, whether central or tangential, forms an element of the composition. As the viewer negotiates color gradients, patterns, and textures as well as spatial layering and ambiguities, the drop remains constant as an object of meditation. The coloration of the paintings invites visual analysis, which is itself similar to meditative practice in that they both draw attention to the here and now.
