Nicholas Knight
My work is about wrestling with all the ambiguity and cross-purposes of our experience of the world today, and trying to do it in a legible, clear way...but without sacrificing those cross-purposes...
Nicholas Knight was born in Indiana in 1975. He has lived and worked in New York since 1998. He has had solo exhibitions at Eugene Binder, Marfa, Texas; Steven Wolf Fine Arts, San Francisco; 65GRAND, Chicago; Gallery 44 Center for Contemporary Photography, Toronto; Akus Gallery, Eastern Connecticut State University; Hewitt Gallery of Art, Marymount Manhattan College, New York. He has also shown work in group exhibitions at Julie Saul Gallery, New York; White Box, New York; The Lab, San Francisco; Nurture Art, Brooklyn; Katzen Center for the Arts, Washington DC; Centre d'art Contemporain, Villa Arson, Nice, France; Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art, Staten Island; Toronto Image Works; Vox Populi, Philadelphia; Boston Center for the Arts; and the Queens Museum, New York.
