"Melting Paint" is an animation derived from an ongoing experiment of using dry ice to freeze paint.

Artist Statement: Nicholas Horman
Experimenting with materials and opening their possible meanings to perception, among a multiplicity of other forces, are at the core of Nicholas Horman’s artistic interests. Horman ultimately pursues knowledge by learning from things, materials, and others in artistic experiments. One of Horman’s provisional guiding principles is that concepts and materials, though different in kind, both behave as forces. Horman’s philosophy of art is as follows: Mix forces together now and ask questions later.
