Artist's Statement
I do not care much for artist “statements” -and certainly I do not like writing them. -As for “What does it mean?” -for those who have difficulty with nonrepresentational work: When you look at a piece of “abstract” work, try using your eyes the same way you use your ears when you listen to music without lyrics or texts. Bio/Resume
b.1953, Iowa/ educated in Midwest, BFA from University of Iowa School of Art & Art History/ residing in NYC since 1988/ -exhibiting work on paper and on canvas in a variety of venues, most recently in Sept.-Oct.,'09 with an exhibition of canvases at OK Harris in NYC/ currently included in a group exhibition at the US Embassy in Tunis for duration of ambassador's tenure -Art in Embassies program, US Dept. of State /residency at Yaddo -April, 2010/ grant recipient from Pollock-Krasner Foundation, 2006 and 1991 and from Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Foundation, 2006. /For more extensive information please refer to www.moseshoskins.com
