Molly Di Grazia

My artwork depicts my meditations on art, existence, nothing, and spirituality. These thoughts are framed by my ongoing fascination with the ways we as humans strive to understand our place in the universe by making contexts for ourselves. With roots in different traditions of dance, music, and literature, my ideas transform into pieces which refer abstractly back to their formal origins. The works are conceived of in series, utilizing combinations of materials and styles as I find suitable to my intentions. Each series consists of finished paintings while remaining in open-ended exchange, the mingling of the unknown and the tangible providing infinite scenarios for possibility. In this ancient play of creation, I continue to explore meaning through the significant act of human expression.
