Mila Dau
Museums have long been associated with exalted spaces in which unusual encounters with art can take place. Yet in many contemporary museums, the space around the art often seemed to overpower it. Some of these art spaces were simply “stealing the show”. This intrigued me.
So I began to make museums - the containers of art - the content of my art. The idea of the architectures of art has worked its way through various projects that are formally different but conceptually related to each other. As more and more art museums and exhibition spaces are built around the world, they provide me with new ideas for my work.
