Artist's Statement

My work lives in many platforms. While painting is the point of origin for all my projects, I produce art for interiors, architecture & public spaces. My paintings resemble stage-sets, fictitious architectures populated w/stylized forms, eccentric perspectives, flickering patterns & saturated pastel & hothouse hues. Responding to the sublime geometry underlying natural forms & to familiar details from the observable world, Weinberg’s virtual painting spaces overlap w/actual physical space. Works on paper, hand-marbleizing, hand-bound books, tiles, textiles, installations of papier maché objects, indoor/outdoor murals, mosaics, terrazzo floors are inspired by digital game space, camouflage, arabic calligraphy, window display, fashion design, & more. She frequently collaborates w/literary & performance artists. Teaching is a vital aspect of her career, fully integrated & inseparable from her artistic practice.
