I began showing my art in 1985 at Salvatore Ala in New York and Milan. I've exhibited in Munich with Galeria Paal; in Seoul at Gallerie Seomi; in NYC at P.S.1, the Drawing Center, the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and the gallery of Dong Jo Chang; in Rio de Janeiro at the Museum of Modern Art; at the Rhode Island School of Design's Museum of Art; in London with Sandra Higgins Fine Art and in Bologna at Galleria Comunale d’Arte Moderna.
Born in Denver, CO in 1950 I graduated from the University of CO where I had Stan Brakhage as a teacher and worked on Christo's Valley Curtain. I also went to Art Center College in L A and the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics under Allen Ginsberg. In 78' I moved to NYC from Philipsburg, MT to work on Walter Hill’s movie “The Warriors”. In the 80's I worked for Dan Flavin through the Dia Art Foundation. My website: www.michaelchandler.info
