Artist's Statement
Melanie Jelacic's sculptural and painterly environments create an intimate correspondence between the organic and the man-made, the zoological and the sociological, the historical and mythological, high-art and the every-day.
Bio/Resume
Melanie Jelacic is based in Brooklyn, New York. She has called Brooklyn her home for the last nine years. She has shown locally and pursued a following of collectors outside the art world. She has curated two shows last year. She is also been invited to have her work published in an emerging artist book, Pointe Suite that will be coming out next year. She received her BFA in sculpture from the Maryland Institute College of Art.
