Mary Pinto was born and raised in the Philadelphia area, lived for several years in Madrid, Spain and currently lives and works in New York. She has been awarded residency fellowships at the Virginia Center for Creative Arts and the Artists Enclave at I-Park, and was included in "Minute", a widely exhibited and collected portfolio of emerging artists published by Artists Space in 2001. Recent exhibitions include: “Brooklyn au Natural” at Safe-T Gallery; “Microspace” at the Cheryl McGinnis Gallery; “Jamaica Flux: Workspaces and Windows” with the Rider Project at the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning; and "Ancient Echoes in Contemporary Printmaking" at Hofstra University Museum. She received her M.F.A. from the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts at Bard College in 1999.
