Artist's Statement

Mariam Touzie has lived in this building on 32nd Street near Empire State, for the last 14 years. She was born in Tehran, Iran and started her education in Fine Arts at the age of 14. Soon after she received her Diploma from Behzad School of Fine Arts, she was accepted in the Tehran University and continued learning art. She showed interest in drama and joined drama students to do set design. She won her first award, The Kingdom Gold Medal for her work in University Theater before receiving her B.F.A.
