I creates politically aware work. There are problems and chaos in the world around us and I deal with these issues in my art. I work in several media including sculpture, wall relief, and works on paper, mail art, photography, and video.
Currently, I am creating a body of work based on war. Children’s war toys and packaging for these toys fascinate me, and have become integrated elements of my work.
My large wall relief’s and drawings read first as abstractions. Only on closer examination does one notice that they are composed of “army men” or war stickers. In both the relief’s and sticker pieces I am using multitudes of small elements to create a very large-scale piece.
I've been living in the woods of Connecticut an hour north of New York City for the past 15 years. In Connecticut I've been privileged to exhibit at the Aldrich Museum, Art Space New Haven, Silvermine Guild of Artists and several local galleries. In the New York metropolitan area my work has recently been included in exhibits at PPOW Gallery, Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn, and the Philocetes Center to name a few. I have also shown in venues throughout the country as well as Whitechapel Art Gallery in London. I'm participating in the "Pool Art Fair" the first week in March at The Gershwin Hotel In NYC.
