Artist's Statement
Bio/Resume

Artist Marci MacGuffie creates installations, paintings, drawings, and sculptures inspired by her own functioning Coincidence Clock. She created a 26,000 year astronomical clock combining Geocentric and Heliocentric models with her own patterning based on coincidences she documented for 25 years. MacGuffie has exhibited in Asia, Europe, Canada and US. Her work has been reviewed in TimeOut Singapore, Montreal Mirror, Forbes Life, The New Yorker and New York Times. MacGuffies work is also included in the book titled, “Art in Action, Nature, Creativity and our Collective Future” published by Palace Press/ Earth Aware Editions. She studied at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture (2001), Rhode Island School of Design (2000) and Cornell University (1995). Born Chicago, IL, 1972, Marci MacGuffie lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
