Bio/Resume
Macho Mel Shimkovitz (aka Militia Melissa, Shim Co.) is a drawer, interactive alternative universe creator, and novice mentalist from Kansas. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Her work has been shown at Capricious Gallery (NY), Roodkapje (NL), Pripublikarrak & Nontzeberri (SP), E. 13th St Gallery (NY), Unitard Gallery (LA) and most recently she staged “Blue Bells”, a large scale live drawing of her own nightmare gay wedding at Hostess Project/P.P.O.W. (NY ). She has been published in FAMOUS (NY & FR), Blend (NL), Anthem (US), Coquetel Molotov (BR) and Fake/Real (FR) and many others. She is also the co-founder of the musical art collection “Voodoo-EROS” (voodooeros.com) as well as being the founder and only due-paying member of the Slo-Tech Philosophy™ (slo-tech.us).
