My current painting mind set has been inspired by Lois Dodd's night paintings and lunar cycle studies. Which led me to work on my own series of night sky/lunar paintings. Muted blocks of color with a single light source peek my interest. The process for my art work is the same for painting & photography it's a mixture of reality, fantasy and the process itself. Part reality because I research and review my subject matter for inspiration. Part fantasy because once done for the night, the next part comes to me in my sleep. The last part is the process itself because I let the paint and lens lead me to where it wants to go. But all of that is trumped by obsession. I get consumed and obsessed by a project so much so that my first documentary photo series evolved from it.
I'm an artist who has set up a small studio in my Brooklyn apartment kitchen. I work late nights on my canvas or grab my camera and document the world around me.
I'm currently pursuing my AFA at LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City, NY with plans to obtain my BFA in the future. Just looking to get my work out there and share it with the world!
