I seek to find meaning in the subtexts of things, literally and figuratively. Subcultures intrigue me, they have forms of expression and creation that go against the grain, questioning what is valid or acceptable. Craft is important to me; acquiring a skill set of materials to articulate my ideas is gratifying.Glass is forever challenging, with seemingly endless capabilities that keep me pursuing its qualities to address metaphor, form, function, meta-form, meta-function.
Mr. Tecosky creates sculpture using blown and constructed glass. With a BA in Fine Art from Alfred University and an MFA from The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, Tecosky teaches at studios and schools in Brooklyn, nationally and internationally. Leo lives and works in Brooklyn, NY blowing glass and maintaining a studio practice.
