Laura Fayer
I make paintings that allow for a natural, intuitive progression while drawing upon an established vocabulary of my rubber-stamped marks. Referring to landscape and architectural form, I alternately conceal and reveal various elements through successive layers of acrylic paint and rice paper. The work relates to the wabi-sabi aesthetic--a Japanese concept of beauty that includes simplicity, unpretentiousness and imperfection. http://www.laurafayer.com
