Laura Braciale
I make paintings that straddle reality and illusion. They meditate upon and meander through the physicality of the painting as object and the pictorial flatness of its painted space. The inclusion of everyday objects initiates a perceptual shift wherein the familiar becomes uncanny and the unfamiliar, known.
