I use digital, analog and traditional media to explore aesthetics within the contemporary understanding of drawing and painting. All work is done on paper, the perfect surface for holding details built up by pen, digital printing, ink, and paint.
The weight of my work lies at the intersection of old media and new media. Print devices are used singularly to create original visuals on paper. Hand-applied brush strokes are integrated into print strokes to enrich their form, presence and visual meaning. Through this technique, the goal of my work is to create finished pieces that address the continuing challenge of the two-dimensional surface in art and aesthetics.
The work details feelings of excitement, explores the imagination of youth or strengthens the intellect of a new way of interpreting the world. Their goal is to organize, or effuse, a multitude of expressions that only occur in the richness of experiencing the zeitgeist.
