Artist's Statement

My ink drawings explore a relationship between man and nature. I adopt stories based on my intimate history and the demons that have haunted my life and others around me.  I create worlds where the forest can be a place for regeneration and strength, while examining the darkness and spiritual disconnectedness that occurs when this relationship is weakened.  I use imagery rich with mystic symbolism and reference biblical lore and esoteric iconography, inventing allegories for something mythological, entire narratives that blur the line between fantasy and reality.
