Artist's Statement

Kazuo Ooka had no idea that he would become an artist when he first set foot in the United States in the late 70’s. He came here as an engineer. His creative mind, yes, also in the mechanical field, eventually brought him success after he had taken on an entrepreneurship of a manufacturing company. When he sold his business some years later, he immediately shifted his creative energy into painting. His relentless, inquisitive effort to better his work over a decade and a half has gradually won him acclaim in various juried competitions in recent years
